Ductless for workout space

I am committed to my health and physical fitness.

I devote at least sixty minutes to exercise every morning.

I prefer to handle my workouts at home rather than make the drive to a gym. I like the privacy and freedom to exercise whenever and for as long as I want. When we moved into a new home, I was delighted to have a shed in the backyard. I immediately planned to utilize the shed as my home gym. It measures twenty feet by twelve feets and features a cement floor. There is a window at each end and the shed is wired for power. The only thing it lacked was temperature control. While the weather is fairly mild for most of the year in my local area, the summer months are extremely hot and humid. The winters are short but sometimes bring temperatures in the forties. For the first year, I got by with a box fan and an electric space heater. These portable units weren’t an ideal solution. They took up valuable floor space and couldn’t handle the most severe weather. In the summer, I’d be drenched in sweat before I even started working out. Feeling overheated and sluggish, I found it difficult to accomplish a strenuous training session. In the winter, the space heater struggled. The chilly conditions made it impossible to properly warm up my muscles, and I worried about injury. I finally contacted a licensed HVAC contractor and asked for a permanently installed, affordable alternative. He suggested a ductless mini split that has provided the perfect solution. There is an outdoor unit linked by way of a conduit to an indoor air handler mounted on the wall. The air handler combines heating and cooling capacity. Despite its small size, the system is plenty powerful. It also operated quietly and efficiently.
