There was a sewer drain in the basement.

My friends are constantly asking myself and others what my worst Heating, Ventilation, and A/C repair call ever was? I usually tell them I had never had a unquestionably terrible Heating, Ventilation, and A/C repair call.

This week, I had a repair call to talk about that topped whatever the other Heating, Ventilation, and A/C workers had.

I was called out to this outdated house and I needed to repair their gas furnace. The owner of the house told myself and others where the gas furnace was. When I was going down the steps, she told myself and others to be careful of the hole in the floor. She didn’t want myself and others to trip and fall. I saw the hole, and it didn’t look love much, although I still avoided it. When I got to the gas furnace, I walked behind it while looking at the ductwork leading into the gas furnace. I stepped cautiously, although I couldn’t help however trip. There was a small lip that my toe caught on and I fell face first. Had I hit water or dirt, I would have been embarrassed and possibly slightly damaged, however that wasn’t the case. I ended up falling into what looked love and smelled love a sewer drain. You sporadically find sewage in basements if there is a leak, however this was more of a cesspool. I got back upstairs as suddenly as I could and asked for a hose. The owner took myself and others to a small room off the porch and pushed myself and others into a shower. The overheated water felt superb as it sluiced down over my body and washed the sewage off my clothing and body. Other than telling myself and others she warned me, she said she also needed to get more light down there. I wasn’t the first Heating, Ventilation, and A/C worker who fell into that hole.
