Eating dinner, relaxing, enjoying my nephew’s visit and talking about old times.
I was asking him how the fishing was where he lives.
We had this great spot there and he and I went several times when I lived there. This was all before I meant my wife but it was always a dream to live on the west coast and have my year filled with beautiful weather. During dinner something was wrong. It just felt uncomfortable in the house. I checked my smartphone to see what our smart thermostat was set at and it said 65 degrees. It was definitely warmer than that! It felt closer to 80 degrees. I walked up to the thermostat and checked it out and it said it was set to 65 degrees but the current temperature of the house is 78 degrees. I checked the vent to see if the air conditioner was pumping air out and it was just silent. I put my hand on the vent and it wasn’t cool. I knew something was wrong and it was going to be a tough night of sleep. I asked Linda and Mark to help me open the windows to see if we can get a breeze going through until I can call the HVAC company in the morning to send out an HVAC technician. I thought about sleeping in the guest house but Linda and I wanted to give Mark his privacy. He’s been very cool to be around. I have had small conversations with my wife about maybe him staying long term and helping him get his life on track. Mark has said that things have been up and down for himself. I just know overall he wouldn’t want to leave his mother by herself.
