I had rented up until a year ago, and I didn’t know what the protocol was when you had an HVAC technician to the house.
My boyfriend was laughing when I asked if we paid the HVAC technician when he showed up, or if we sent a check in the mail. He told me to relax, and we would play it by ear. I was so excited to be living in a house. My family always lived in apartments and rentals. I never had a home where you paid all the bills and could do what you wanted without asking permission. We could have company over without asking the landlord if it was all right. My fiance was excited for me, even though he had always lived in a home owned by his parents. When the HVAC technician was to arrive, I waited at home for him. I must have called my finance at least ten times because I worried when he was late. I was glad my fiance was the patient type, or he would have kicked me out by the end of the day. When the HVAC technician finally arrived, I was so excited that I couldn’t stop talking or asking questions. I asked how much it was going to cost to make the repairs and how long it would take. He handed me the bill when he made the HVAC repairs, and I asked if he wanted a check. He told me I could pay it then, or we could send the check to the HVAC company.
