Never buy a new air conditioning unit without testing it

It is unlike me to buy an electrical appliance without testing it.

  • I always make sure the features presented in its description area as they are in the system or appliance.

Since the quarantine started, I was unable to visit any commercial HVAC provider’s store in person. And the closest a/c serviceman was not operating as well, so when I purchased my ductless mini split online, I had to rely on a cooling and heating business that is located in a different area nearby. The company doesn’t do a/c set up, so when the delivery was done, they couldn’t test it for me, but I was okay with it. The one time I failed to test my new air conditioning unit in the presence of the seller was the time it was unable to work. I was stumped. I had to go online and learn more about heating and cooling installation. As a bonus, I came across some energy saving tips while at it. There is a lot of information on heating and air conditioning online, and I got more help than I needed. My only problem was I didn’t have the tools to mount my mini-split on the wall. I had to ask around if anyone could recommend me to a freelance technician in town to help me with the setup, three days later one arrived at my door. He was more of a service technician than an installation one, but he managed to help me out. From this, I was glad I had someone who can handle furnace/heater service, heater maintenance or a/c tune up. But for duct cleaning, I was okay with recommending him elsewhere.
