My entire adult life, I have really wanted to build a home just once.
I mean from the ground up with my ideas included in the design. Having been a homeowner for several decades, I wanted my very own home from the yard to the HVAC. This is finally coming true. It won’t be too long before my wife and I are moving into our custom made home. Of course, we had to wait until the kids were grown and careers were completed. It’s the only way we could afford it. While the new house is custom, it’s not very big which saved us an immense amount of money. Once the kids were gone, we decided to sell our house and build our new house. We updated the HVAC and did some other things to bring the best price. Fortunately, we got just over what we had hoped for. That meant we lived in a rented condo for a year while the house was built. However, this turned out just fine because we had to immediately pare down our lives. The other great thing about it was that one of us was always visiting the build site on a daily basis. We were even the ones who picked out the HVAC contractor. He was really just a godsend and came highly recommended to us. We now have the best HVAC we have ever experienced. And that goes for the few months we lived in our old house with a new HVAC unit. There is no question that if you are building a house, you have to get a credentialed, professional HVAC contractor.
