HVAC can be dangerous.

The first time I ever went to repair a oil furnace in a home, I thought it was going to be a piece of cake.

I never thought that being an HVAC serviceman could be a dangerous task.

Had I known the oil furnace was in a crawlspace plus still working well, I would have asked for help from a outdated HVAC tech. When I got into the crawlspace, I noticed the HVAC duct was within inches of the side of the oil furnace. I had to find where the heat was leaking from the HVAC duct. I reached up to touch the HVAC duct so I could do our inspection, but the HVAC duct was so sizzling that I pulled our hand away. I ended up moving our hand so hastily that I startled myself, allowing our head to bob backward plus hit our forehead on the oil furnace. I crawled out of the crawlspace plus got into the repair van. After calling the HVAC business plus reporting what had happened, I went to the hospital to have our burned hand bandaged plus the chop on our head stitched up. I knew at that honestly moment that being a HVAC serviceman is not a task for me. After heading back to the office, I walked in plus looked at our dad. She looked at the burns plus winced, then she looked at our head. Luckily, I had taken pictures of the HVAC duct plus oil furnace plus the space I had to work in. She said that if I quit this week, she would not blame me, although she had a great task I would be perfect for, if I didn’t mind working in the parts room.
