The leaseholders are causing destruction to the undefined unit

My wife & I own an house building on the west side of town.

The house building has 6 units; Four units are on the main level of the building, & 2 units are big upstairs apartments.

The several units on the main level are all equipped with a window A/C unit in the family rooms. The more than one units located upstairs have a central gas furnace & A/C unit. The units located upstairs have several family rooms, & my wife & I knew it would be easiest to have a central gas furnace & A/C unit installed. We have had the same leaseholders in one of our apartments for the past three years. We recently decided to raise the rent for the first time in three years. I expected the leaseholders to be frustrated, but I did not expect them to be rude & discourteous. I gained about 50 phone calls after I sent out the letter to all of our leaseholders! Some folks left messages & others called & called until I picked up the phone. My wife & I did not raise the rent really high. We added a 10% charge to every unit, which is going to cover the cost of an Heating and A/C repair plan. We thought it would be a fantastic system to have an Heating and A/C repair system for the apartments. The repair system includes a timely check up on the gas furnace & the unit. We also acquire 15% off all of our repairs, installations, & troubleshooting calls. I think the leaseholders are unhappy about the changes, however they can choose to end their lease & move somewhere else if they like.
