We decided to spend our first Christmas at my in-law’s house.
Amir and I have only been married about six months now and I never really got to meet his family.
They came to the wedding but you don’t really get to know anybody and just a few hours. I grew up in the Northeast so I knew that there would be a lot of snow in the winter months. I was perfectly prepared to help shovel driveways and dig cars out of the snow. What I wasn’t prepared for was that the in-laws have heated driveways. Not only do they have underfloor heating throughout their entire house, they also have underfloor heating in the driveways and on all of the walkways. I was really surprised by this. When we pulled up to the house in their car, I noticed how clean the driveways and walkways were. They were perfectly shoveled off. When I mentioned this, that’s what I was told about the heated driveways and heated walkways. It keeps the snow and ice off of the cement entirely. That’s amazing! I also really like the heated floors in the house. It made the whole house really warm and comfortable without drying the air out. When I left the Northeast, I swore I would never move back. However, I might consider it if I could have heated floors and heated driveways like this. I do like the snow and a white Christmas is amazing. I have just always hated shoveling snow and being uncomfortably cold. But I could definitely live like this.
