A long drive takes longer with no A/C

My dad took my brother and I to a baseball game when we were teenagers.

We drove 3 hours to see our favorite team play in a playoff game. Nobody minded the 3-hour drive on the way to the game. We stopped for lunch and we had plenty of time to spare. We found our seats, which turned out to be better than we expected. We had a great view of the outfield and we even had a lot of foul balls come our way. My dad bought us hot dogs, popcorn, frozen lemonade, and a pennant. The game went into extra innings, but our team won with a score of 7-5. Everyone was tired on the way home and my dad considered getting a hotel room close to the stadium. My mom was expecting us home that evening, so we made the drive. On the way home from the game, the AC in the truck stopped working. My dad pulled over to a gas station to check on the AC problem. He was under the hood for 30 minutes but he did not fix the AC problem. We had to drive the rest of the way home without any AC and the long drive was even longer without cool air. There were too many bugs outside to put the windows all the way down. We tried not to complain about the temperature, because we knew that our dad was very frustrated. It was almost 2 a.m. before we pulled into the driveway of our house. As long as I live, I will never forget the time when my dad took us to a playoff game.
