Hey, I’m not going to pretend that I don’t try to save money at just about every turn.
It’s sort of in my DNA I suppose. Our family was all about the savings when we were growing up. Both parents worked really hard in careers that don’t traditionally pay well. So, both of us did love being ever mindful of the HVAC setting in order to save money every week. In fact, that is something that I still do in every season. Yet, there are still areas where I simply will not budge when it comes to cost. There aren’t too many of them but, I’m faced with one right now. Our HVAC device got us through another grueling summer. Each autumn, I have the HVAC tech come out to inspect and repair the HVAC component after the heavy lifting of the summer. This time, we got some terrible news. It seems that our heating and cooling device has a space that is on the verge of failing. If this space fails, there will be a cascade of other problems for the HVAC machine. Now, if this were my old truck, I would go to a guy I feel to see what he could do as cheaply as possible. However, this is the HVAC system and is totally essential to my family’s comfort. I am not trusting it to any sort of unlicensed handyman to job on. As much as I don’t love dipping into my savings, it will just have to be done. The HVAC will only be repaired by certified and licensed professionals. That’s just all there is to it.
