My grandpa says the house is too hot

My grandpa and my grandma are constantly fighting over the thermostat at their house.

It’s been this way ever since I can remember.

My grandma likes to keep the house toasty and warm, and my grandpa hates it. He is one of those guys who says that the best invention of the twentieth century was air conditioning and he always wants to use it. He always tells my grandma that he spent enough time out in the jungles back when he was in the military and so he certainly doesn’t want the inside of his house to feel like a jungle now. He is constantly turning the air conditioning down so that the temperature in the house is about 65 degrees. My grandma comes along behind him, in her fuzzy slippers and a giant sweater, and turns the A/C back off and the heating on. It goes on and on like this until one of them gets so ticked off that they end up yelling at each other. It makes me laugh but it also makes me feel frustrated that after fifty years of being married, they still can’t decide on where the thermostat settings should be. It’s crazy. It makes me really worried about what is going to happen when my boyfriend and I get married someday! I think that we are going to have to have a serious talk about the thermostat and where the temperature settings should be during the winter and the summer. That’s not a very romantic thing to think about, but it’s one of those things that you need to prepare for!
