My brother ended up coming out with his wife for a surprise visit.
- It was kind of an awkward time because we have been doing work around the house, and we were about to install a ductless mini split for the air conditioning.
Unfortunately, we were not able to get to that project just yet and instead of having air conditioning in our home, we were stuck with just using fans. In the evening hours, we would open the windows and doors to allow the cool air to come into the house. This has been working alright, but this day with my brother visiting was terrible. We spent some time outside checking out the property, but when we went inside, I felt like I was dying from heat exhaustion. All I wanted to do was lay down on the floor underneath the fan. I actually did this for a little while and fell asleep briefly. Then I spent some more time talking to my brother and his wife. He said that he would help me install the ductless mini split if I wanted. I actually was waiting for an electrician to help me out, but he knew about working with electrical hookups and connections. He was able to get the A/C disconnect hooked up and he helped me with the ductless mini split installation. This turned out to be the best visit ever because we would have waited to install the A/C system, but now it’s working great and we are no longer feeling miserable in the heat.
