Heated gym for basketball season

I coach high college gymnastics at a small college in the northeastern part of the country.

The weather is a major challenge for our sport.

All of us start practice for the football season the first of September & the games run until the certainly end of September. At the beginning of the season, both of us deal with seriously boiling & humid conditions. The gym at our high college isn’t outfitted with air conditioning. While both of us set up electric fans, they don’t supply much relief, however because of the need for mats for stunting, it’s necessary to practice in the gym the majority of the time. Whenever possible, I take the ladies outside & find a shady spot where both of us can take luck of a breeze. It isn’t long before the weather cools off, & we’re dealing with freezing rain, snow & temperatures in the thirties. All of us then travel over an hour on a college bus to the away games. The heating systems on the buses are not able to keep up, and even with the heat blasting at maximum capacity, the ladies all bundle up in blankets for the drive. The cold bus is still better than resting on the field, exposed to the elements, during the games, I rest in the bleachers & nearly freeze to death. Although the weather is especially brutal while I was in basketball season, both of us get the luck of cheering indoors. Fortunately, the gym is heated. All of us practice & have all games inside the gymnasium. Because of budget cuts, both of us no longer travel to the away basketball games, so the ancient heating systems on the bus aren’t an issue.
